Ntegrated circuits (IC) use optical method to print the circuits on to the chips. Thevv circuits are very small (less than 1-2micron) and if there were particles and micro organics on the circuits would cause short circuit. Therefore it requires a large amount of ultra pure water to wash the circuits during manufacturing process. The following is an example of water quality required to manufacture 1M bit DRAM.
