A normally closed (NC) solenoid valve aims to stop the flow of the fluid within a system. An NC air solenoid valve in terms blocks the airflow. The plunger inside the NC valve is usually in a down position to intercept the path and block the flow. When an electric current passes through the solenoid coil, the magnetic field is created and causes the plunger to move to the up position, allowing the valve to open. If the current stop passing through the solenoid, the magnetic field disappears and the valve closes. A 2-way normally closed air solenoid valve only has two ports, the inlet and the outlet for the airflow. The 2-way normally closed air solenoid valve is common in systems that require a simple and effective stop and start control of the airflow.
