An SVGA cable, also called Super VGA cable, is a type of Computer VGA Cable that functions as the connection between a personal computer to a monitor. SVGA stands for Super Video Graphic Array. It is a computer display standard derived from IBM’s VGA specification. It is sometimes mistaken as the D-type connector (D-sub miniature) because they are both used on computers and have a D-shaped metal shield around the connector pins.
The difference between these two is that the SVGA cable has 15 pins in three rows while the D-sub connector (and other subtypes) typically has the pins arranged in only two rows.
